CommunityViz Tips & Tricks
Below are some technical Tips & Tricks for CommunityViz users:
Backups/Software Crashes:
- Remember to save your project, close ArcMap, and zip the analysis folder after any significant work has been completed.
- Each CommunityViz analysis folder contains a backup folder (~Backup) where the last saved version of your project automatically gets stored. Refer to this version if any project corruptions occur.
- If Scenario 360 crashes, do NOT save your changes and close out of ArcMap.
- If ArcMap crashes, go to your analysis directory in Windows Explorer and kill the lock file. Then copy the backup version of your project (from ~Backup) to the master version.
Data/Analysis:
- If using a geodatabase for multiple analyses, you should clear the SCENARIO field before running any tools.
- Before running build-out, you should always "save and exit" after all inputs are completed.
Sharing:
- Use the default directory structure (C:/CVFiles/<analysis folder>) so you may easily share your project with your collegues or tech support.
